YOUR INNATE FINANCIAL WISDOM

  1. When have you experienced the most joy in your life? What were you doing? Was it when you all piled into the car and took a family trip? When you played hooky from work one day and went hiking with your best friend? What was your state of being (e.g., relaxed, peaceful)? Elaborate.

  2. If you could write the blueprint for the most enriching life you could have, with no financial or psychological constraints, what would that life look like? Remember that “enriching” could mean a very simple kind of joy, peace, and fulfillment—it doesn’t have to contain grandiose dreams. Focus on as many areas as you want, from family, travel, creativity, social action, or volunteering, to religious/spiritual practice, health, recreation, work, career, or philanthropy. Do your best to separate out your adult voice from your conditioned Core Story. Leave out any shoulds dictated by society in general. The heartfelt goals you uncovered on p. 15 may well be repeated here. This blueprint is just between you and you, no one else. Though this may seem hard at first, once you get going you’ll see that your thoughts will flow. How would you live your most complete, fulfilling life?
